What permission is required from State Government to start a new school in India? Who will grant the permissions in the State for opening School ?
For CBSE/ICSE School, the permissions have to be obtained from the local District Education Officer (primary wing). In some States in India, for operating schools from Grade 1 to 8, Middle School Approval permission is given by the state government and in some states we get permission for Primary (Grade 1-4 or Grade 1-5 depending upon the state norms). Otherwise approval of the State Government will be required for opening of a new school in private sector, irrespective of the board of Affiliation and medium of instruction.
Will there be any need to obtain any Clearance / Certificate from the State Government ( Ministry of HRD / Education) for affiliation of the school with CBSE?
The schools will be required to acquire NOC from State government to be considered for affiliations from either CBSE or ICSE.
